Real authentic cuisine

Tahir Jaks is the founder of Bollywood Tiger.

The family originate from west Bengal, if you take glance back into history, so does the Bengal Tiger & Famous Bollywood Film industry. As a teenager Tahir Jaks was taught by his elderly mother who had rich knowledge of real authentic cuisine, Tahir’s previous successful family restaurants include Balti King of Birmingham, Balti King in Bourne, Aroma Spice in Bourne and Angel Spice of Stilton.

Curry with a twist

Tahir's goal was to achieve the "real" taste of authentic Indian food.

He noticed the thoroughly Anglicised Indian food in the UK, claiming to be  "the real McCoy", which coerced Tahir to embark on culinary journeys to South India, West Bengal and Bangladesh to further his understanding of what truthfully defines a perfect curry. As well as himself, this allowed him to select a chef who suited his acquired culinary vision and philosophy to work alongside him, to provide customers at Bollywood Tiger a taste of what truly composes an authentic curry with a contemporary twist.
